Clair Mitchell

| September 11, 2013 11:00 PM

Clair Mitchell passed away peacefully Sept. 3, 2013 at Bee Hive Homes in Columbia Falls.

Clair was an independent, free-spirited woman who lived life to the fullest. Because of her thirst for knowledge and her desire to help people, she returned to college later in life to earn her degree in social work. With a love for adventure, she traveled extensively throughout Europe and Asia with her husband.

Following her husband’s death, Clair moved from Mesa, Ariz., to Whitefish where she soon found many wonderful friends and worthwhile activities. She volunteered at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church teaching first grade faith formation. Children always held a special place in her heart. She also spent many happy hours volunteering at the Whitefish Community Center. It was there that she was chosen Queen of the Winter Carnival in 2008.

Clair is survived by her three children, John Pearson and spouse Cheryl of Bertram, Texas, Dotty Johnson and spouse Ron of Valparaiso, Ind., and Ann Donahue and spouse Bob of Whitefish.

Her family and friends will miss her spirit, energy and love. She will continue to live in our hearts.

A funeral service will be held at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church on Sept. 16 at 11 a.m. Buffalo Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family.
