Mary Rygiel

Mary Louise Rygiel, 90, passed away Aug. 25, 2013, in Clearwater, Fla.

She was born Aug. 21, 1923, in Derry, Pa., to Benjamin and Elizabeth Shaffer.

In 1947, she married John Rygiel in Derry, and they lived there until moving to St. Pete, Fla., in 1953. In 1981 they moved to Montana and lived in the North Fork wilderness for 14 years. They moved to Kalispell because of health concerns. She moved back to Florida in 2007 and lived at Accordia Woods Assisted Living from 2008 until her passing.

She is survived by one son, John Rygiel Jr., of St. Petersburg; one daughter, Robin Rygiel, of Clearwater; one grandson, Gabe Rygiel, of Clearwater; one niece, Donna Brown of York, Pa.; and one nephew, Philip Shaffer, of Hooversville, Pa.
