Pedal for Paths on September 21
The Gateway to Glacier Trail organization will hold its inaugural Pedal For Paths fundraiser on Saturday, Sept. 21. The nonprofit is seeking funds to build a bike path connecting Coram to West Glacier along U.S. 2.
Cyclists can enjoy a gentle family bike ride along a beautiful 7-mile stretch of the lower South Fork Road or a more vigorous 30-mile ride along Hungry Horse Reservoir’s West Side Road to Lid Creek, which includes a 4-mile climb to Hungry Horse Dam.
Two cycling clinics will be available — a bike safety presentation for riders of all abilities and a talk about road climbing techniques by noted local competitive cyclists. Riders will start at 10 a.m. on the lower section South Fork Access Road for a group ride celebration of Pedal for Paths.
Pre-registration is available online at www.gatewaytoglaciertrail.com or http://usacycling.org/events/?state=MT, which includes an event T-shirt and grab bag for only $25 per adult or $15 for youths with the pre-registration discount. Deadline is Sept. 18. Riders can also register on the day of the event.
