Wildkats have a great week in volleyball

The Columbia Falls girls volleyball team is on a roll.

The Wildkats swept Stillwater Christian 25-18, 25-18 and 27-25 Sept. 19 and then won the Bonners Ferry, Idaho tournament Sept. 21 by taking all six of its matches there.

The Kats beat Libby in the one-set final 25-20 for the win.

Against Stillwater, the Kats were led by senior Haley Belgarde with 11 kills. Freshman Cydney Finberg had 15 of the Kats’ 59 digs in the victory.

The girls go on the road against Frenchtown on Thursday and then are home Saturday as they face Whitefish. Frenchtown is one of the best teams in the state.

Assists – Columbia Falls 31 (Finberg 20), Stillwater Christian 21 (Dorothy Smith 21). Aces – Columbia Falls 5 (Finberg 2), Stillwater Christian 7 (Smith 3).
