Bigfork Wrestling Club takes first at state meet
The Bigfork Wrestling Club won first place at the state club wrestling tournament last weekend in Kalispell.
Competing in the small-club category, Bigfork was first out of 12 teams. Bigfork had 14 wrestlers compete and seven placed in the top four.
State Results
1st: Fin Nadeau
2nd: Chase Youso, Garett Rieke
3rd: Bo Meyer, Tucker Nadeau, David Wickwire
4th: Shad Olson
In the Beginner State category, Bigfork had 13 beginners (ages 6-8) compete and eight placed in the top six.

2nd Place: Tyler Wickwire
4th Place: Casey Wilson
5th Place: North Nollan, Aidan Castonguay
6th Place: Andrew Wallen, Cole Knopik
Coach Marc Nadeau said he was pleased with how well the team wrestled, and said that everyone's hard work at practice paid off with some impressive wins on the mats. Approximately 1,000 wrestlers from western Montana participated in the state tournaments in Kalispell.
A banquet to celebrate the successful season will be April 8 at Bigfork Middle School at 6 p.m. Bigfork Wrestling Club is hosting the banquet for the Little Guy wrestlers and the Bigfork High School wrestling team.
Dinner will be catered by D & T Barbecue and wrestlers’ families can bring a dessert to share.
Bigfork Wrestling Club is also planning a fundraiser at Tamarack Brewing Company in Lakeside on April 16 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
