Glacier Bank has donated 30 acres along the Flathead River in Bigfork to Montana’s Outdoor Legacy Foundation.

The land on the Flathead River is adjacent to Harbor Village, Eagle Bend Golf Club and the federal waterfowl protection area along the Flathead River. “Caring for, and growing, Montana’s rich outdoor legacy … takes many partners,” foundation director George Bettas said. “Glacier Bank’s donation is a true gift to all of us in Montana.”

Montana’s Outdoor Legacy Foundation was established in 1999 as a nonprofit organization committed to maintaining access to Montana’s outdoor resources. The foundation was formerly the Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks Foundation. “Outdoor activities are at the core of Montana values and economic growth,” Dennis Beams of Glacier Bank, said. “We’re delighted to be able to provide one more point of access to enjoying the quality of life that makes Montana a special place to life and do business.” The land is on the north and south side of the canal entrance to Harbor Village and runs along the entire west side of Harbor Village along the Flathead River.

The only public access to the land is from the Flathead River or from the waterfowl protection area on the south side of the canal at the river entrance to Harbor Village. There is no public access to the land through Harbor Village, which is a private development.
