Teaching corps
Ariel Ramstad, a 2011 Columbia Falls High School graduate, has been accepted into the Teach For America 2014 teaching corps, a national nonprofit working to expand educational opportunities for low income students. Members commit to teach for two years in high-need urban or rural public schools. Ramstad is heading to Las Vegas Valley.
Law grad
Trevor Hunter, of Brentwood, Calif., recently received his Juris Doctor degree from Southwestern Law School in Los Angeles. Hunter attended Deer Park School in Columbia Falls. While attending Southwestern, he was a staff member of the school’s Journal of International Law from 2012-2013 and became an associate editor in 2013-2014. He was an advocate for the Trial Advocacy Honors Program from 2012-2014 and was a participant in the National Civil Trial Competition in Santa Monica in November 2013. He was also a recipient for the Witkin Academic Excellence Award in California Civil Procedure. Hunter earned his bachelor’s in history and political science from University of Montana. He is married to Shandi Hunter and is the son of Scott and Laurie Hunter, of Columbia Falls.
