C-Falls sports practices starting

Summer vacation is officially over for Columbia Falls High School athletes, as sports practices kick off this week and next.

Athletes must have a physical completed after May 1 to be eligible to attend practice for any sport. Here’s a rundown of the practice schedules:

• Football: Friday, Aug. 15, first session, 4 to 6 p.m., then position meetings (players should bring something to eat/drink during these meetings), second session, 7 to 8:45 p.m.; Saturday practices, 8 to 10 a.m.

• Boys soccer: Monday, Aug. 18, first session 9 to 11 a.m., second session 3 to 4 p.m.

• Girls soccer: Monday, Aug. 18, first session, 7 to 9 a.m., second session, 4:30 to 6 p.m.

• Volleyball: Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 18-19, freshmen from 8 to 10 a.m., sophomores through seniors from 10 a.m. to noon. All classes practice Wednesday from 8 to 10 a.m. Selections will be made after Wednesday practice, and practice times and venues will change.

• Cross country: Practice starts at the high school track Friday, Aug. 15, at 7:30 a.m. and continue at 7:30 a.m. for Aug. 18-22.
