Robert Beck

Robert (Bob) J. Beck died peacefully surrounded by family at his home in Columbia Falls on Feb. 2.

Bob was born March 16, 1926, in Kalispell to Harry and Jeanette Beck.

As a lifetime resident of the Flathead Valley, Bob had many great friendships. He graduated from Flathead High School in 1944 and served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a man devoted to the outdoors — fishing, hunting, camping and all family activities.

Bob is preceded in death by parents, siblings and infant son Bobby.

He is survived by his wife of 64 1/2 years, Joan; his son Roger and wife Kathy; his son Gordy and wife Patti; his daughter Lorraine Riley and husband Bert; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews who all loved him immensely.

A visitation will be held at the United Methodist Church in Columbia Falls on Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. The funeral service for Bob will follow at 11 a.m. A luncheon will immediately follow at the church for friends and family to join. The family will reconvene at C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery at 3 p.m.
