C-Falls girls compete at Idaho meet
There was a strong Columbia Falls contingent at the Mountain States Games indoor track meet at Idaho State University on Feb. 1.
Columbia Falls triple jumper Carla Nicosia took first in the event among high school girls with a 36-foot 11/2-inch jump. The leap would have placed her sixth against the college athletes.
Nicosia also finished second in the 60 meter hurdles and fourth in the 60 meter dash.
Columbia Falls alumni Jinise Osborne and Angie Tamburelli also competed. Osborne runs for Montana State University-Billings. She took 12th in 5,000 meters and fourth in the 3,000 meters. Tamburelli, a freshman who runs for the University of Great Falls, took fifth in the 60 meter dash.
The event pitted athletes from across the Intermountain West region against each other.
