Florence Marie Paulson

Florence Marie Paulson, 91, of Bigfork, passed away Christmas Eve.

Florence and her twin brother Eugene, were born April 23, 1922, in Kalispell to Mildred and Dan Sullivan. She attended the old Echo School for her early school years. She then graduated from Bigfork High School. On Sept. 19, 1941, she married Glen Paulson in Bigfork.

Florence spent most of her life living in Bigfork, except for a brief stint in Bremerton, Wash., during the World War II years working at the naval yards. Back in Bigfork, Florence was a mail carrier and then eventually worked in the Bigfork post office as a clerk. After many years of valued work for the post office, Florence took her full retirement. She loved to travel and see new parts of the country. She also loved Bigfork High School basketball. She was a regular attendee from the time she was in high school until she could no longer physically attend.

Florence was preceded in death by her parents, Mildred and Dan Sullivan, her husband, Glen Paulson, and her brothers Eugene and Cecil Sullivan.

Florence is survived by her son, Gary Paulson, and his wife, Linda, of Creston; her grandson Greg Paulson, and his wife, Deborah, of Deer Park, Wash., her grandson Griff Paulson and his wife, Karen, of Bigfork, and granddaughter Kerry Greenwood and husband, Jason, of Havre, as well as eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Lois Sudan of Bigfork,, as well as several nieces and nephews. A private family burial will be held per her request.
