DeWit breaks 1,000 point mark
Columbia Falls High School alumnus Kelsey DeWit recently broke the 1,000 point scoring barrier for the Montana Tech women’s basketball team.
The 6-foot-2 senior center scored 8 points in a 64-48 loss to the South Dakota School of Mines on Jan. 27. She was 2-for-7 from the field and 4-for-6 from the line. She also had one rebound.
She came into the game with 996 points and 150 points in 15 games this season. She scored 8 points for the Orediggers on Jan. 25 in a 75-59 victory over Dickinson State.
DeWit’s season scoring high of 16 points came in a 63-58 loss to Central Washington at home on Nov. 16 last year. She scored 14 points in three other games.
She scored 304 points in 32 games as a freshman, 247 points in 24 games as a sophomore, and 303 points in 23 games as a junior last season.
DeWit also has 630 rebounds for the Orediggers. Montana Tech is 8-7 overall and 3-5 in the Frontier Conference.
