Swimmers do well in divisional meet

The Columbia Falls swim team had several strong performances at the Western Divisional meet in Fort Benton on July 26-27.

The girls 8-and-under 100 meter freestyle relay team won with a time of 1:27.46. The boys 11-12 age team won the 200 meter free relay at 2:23.30, and the boys 13-14 year old 200 relay team won at 1:59.53.

The boys 11-12 team won the 200 meter medley at 2:47.29, and the boys 13-14 team won the same race at 2:18.31.

Individually, Bubba Loyda won the boys 13-14 200 medley relay at 2:27.30 and the 100 meter backstroke at 1:11.31.

Jessica Loyda won the girls 13-14 200 medley relay at 2:50.47. She also won the 50 free at 29.65 and the 100 free at 1:06.08.

Russell Albin won the boys 11-12 50 meter freestyle at 31.95 and the 100 free at 1:13.3. Jacob Hohman won the 13-14 50 meter free at 29.06.

Riker Foster won the 11-12 50 breaststroke at 43.6, and Zayne Friar won the 13-14 free at 1:03.12 and the 50 butterfly at 30.8.

Youngster Kaylee King won the 8-and-under 25 meter backstroke at 24.71.

The Columbia Falls swim team is ranked fourth in the state heading into this weekend’s state meet in Conrad to wrap up the season.
