Protect the North Fork

| June 12, 2014 7:37 AM

As Montanans, we must continue to push for protection of the beautiful parts of creation that are at the heart of the place we call home.

As a Christian, care of creation is central to my faith, and we are called to serve as stewards of these beautiful places where we have the opportunity to commune with God and relax and enjoy the outdoors.

As president of the Montana Association of Churches, I applaud Congressman Steve Daines and Sens. Jon Tester and John Walsh for working together to care for God’s creation — a creation that we all enjoy and love.

This is the type of collaboration and commitment to stewardship that we need and expect. And it’s the type of effort that the Montana Association of Churches cares about.

With eight denominations as members of the association, it’s rare that we agree on everything, but we do agree that we must work together to ensure the best for Montanans now and in the future.

Protecting the North Fork is important, and we applaud those who are working to ensure its protected for generations to come.
