Jazz camp

The 20th annual Summer Jazz Camp for students entering grades 8-12 will be held at the Columbia Falls High School on Tuesday through Friday, July 8-11, from 9 a.m. to noon, with a jazz band, small ensembles and improvisation. Summer concerts

The Columbia Falls Lions Club summer concert series continues Thursday, June 26, at Marantette Park with the Montana Midnight Guitar Trio, playing classical, contemporary and jazz music, from “Bach to rock.” The concert will start at 7 p.m. Donations are $3 for an individual, $5 for families. Next week’s concert will feature music by the quartet “Smart Alex.”

Farmers market

Blue Smoke will be the featured band at the Columbia Falls Farmers Market, held at Pinewood Park next to the City Pool on Thursday, June 26, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. The Thursday markets host local vendors offering fresh produce, baked items, crafts, arts and various eats and treats.

Seniors sale

The North Valley Senior Center will hold its annual garage sale at the center, 205 Nucleus Avenue, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, June 27, and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 28. For more information, contact Roxy at 892-4087.

Cooking school

A free vegan and vegetarian cooking school will be offered the first Tuesday of each month starting July 1 at 269 Second Avenue East North in Columbia Falls with free samples and recipes. For more information, call 387-5966.

Chalet tours

The staff at the Belton Chalet in West Glacier will host tours of the historic building and its ghosts every Sunday from July 6 through Aug. 31 from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. The Belton Chalet was the first hotel built for Glacier National Park by James Hill and features a painting by John Fraley. Tours will finish in the chalet’s taproom. For more information, call 406-888-5000.

Shrine circus

The Flathead Shrine Club will hold its annual Shrine Circus at the Flathead Count Fairgrounds on Saturday, July 5, with performances at 2 and 7 p.m. One hundred percent of the funds from the circus will be used to send Flathead Valley children to Shrine Hospitals. Tickets are $15 adults, $5 children and $8 seniors over 65.

Senior picnic

The Flathead County Agency on Aging will hold its annual Older Americans Day Picnic at the county fairgrounds in Kalispell on Friday, June 27, with doors opening at 10 a.m. and hamburgers with the works lunch served from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Western attire is encouraged to celebrate the spirit of the great American West. Classic cars

The sixth annual Glacier Rally in the Rockies car show will take place in downtown Kalispell on Friday and Saturday, July 18-19, as a fundraiser for Flathead CARE. The weekend will take off with a show and shine on Friday at Kalispell’s Dairy Queen from 6-8 p.m. followed by an American Graffiti-style “Cruise the Drag” up and down Main Street from 8-10 p.m. The main parade will take place on Main Street on Saturday, July 19, beginning at 10 a.m. Classic vehicles and motorcycles will park on First Avenue West and in parking lots between Center and Third streets. Board opening

Volunteers are needed to serve on the Columbia Falls Cemetery Board. They must reside in the Columbia Falls Cemetery District. Currently, there is one vacated term that would serve through Dec. 31, 2015. A letter of interest including qualifications can be submitted to Flathead County Commissioners Office, 800 South Main, Room 302, Kalispell MT 59901-5420. Deadline is July 2. Fire district trustees

Volunteers are needed to fill a vacancy on the Columbia Falls Rural Fire District and on the Martin City Rural Fire District boards of trustees. The two terms will start immediately upon appointment and serve until the next general fire election is held in May 2015.
