Park plows within six miles of Logan Pass
The Many Glacier Road on Glacier National Park’s east side has been opened to motor vehicle traffic. A portion of the Inside North Fork Road also has opened to vehicles, from Polebridge to the gate at Doverspike Meadow.
Meanwhile, Park plow crews continue to close in on Logan Pass on the Going-to-the-Sun Road’s west side. They’re now less than six miles from the pass in an area known as Alder Point, not far from road camp.
Hikers and bikers can travel from Lake McDonald Lodge to Logan Pit during the week while plows are working. There are no restrictions after 6 p.m. on weekdays and no restrictions on weekends.
On the east side of the Park, plow crews have finished clearing the Two Medicine Road, but it’s closed to motor vehicles at Running Eagle Falls. Hikers and bikers can travel the road beyond the falls. Plow crews will begin work on the east side of the Sun Road soon.
A cool, wet weekend is forecasted for Glacier Park, with rain and highs in the 40s and 50s both days. Higher elevations above 6,000 feet will see some snow on Sunday. All of next week is expected to be cool with a chance of rain through Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.
