Berl Elvin Buck
Berl Elvin Buck, 77, of Kalispell, died May 1, 2014, at Immanuel Nursing Home in Kalispell, with his family at his bedside.
He was born Sept. 5, 1936, the eldest child of Forrest and Freda (Fladmark) Buck.
Berl served six years in the National Guard with an honorable discharge. He worked in a saw mill and was a truck driver in heavy road construction.
Berl was the truck driver for the greensman for the “Heaven’s Gate” movie in 1979. He also worked at the bark plant and did cabinet making.
He met and married his present wife, Nyla Hahn, in 1976.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother; sister Marie (Buck) Carda; and foster son Joseph Howke Schlinger.
He is survived by his wife, Nyla G. Hahn Buck, of Columbia Falls; sons Forrest “Frosty” Buckand wife Colleen, of Columbia Falls, and Lowell Buck and wife Nancy, of Seward, Alaska; daughters Annalynn Kuper and spouse Tim Handran, of Shepherd, Teresa “Tari” Bradley and husband Glenn, of Stayton, Ore., Rebecca Resner and spouse Greg Sharp, of Thompson Falls, and Dawna Erlewine and husband Bill, of Anchorage, Alaska; 22 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; brother Clinton Buck and wife Thora, of Sandpoint, Idaho; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life and a potluck will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1780 Talbott Road, in Columbia Falls, on Saturday, May 10, 2014, at 2 p.m.
