Doris Masa

Doris Masa, 84, passed away May 9, 2014, at her home in Kalispell.

She was born in Ekalaka on April 29, 1930, to George and Mary Anderson and attended school in Baker and Portland, Ore., where her parents worked in a shipyard during World War II. Later, the family returned to Baker where she met and married Paul Masa.

Over the next 20 years, they owned and operated four different bars, one in Belfield, N.D., another in Baker, and two in Kalispell. Together, they owned and operated the Log Cabin Bar on Main Street for 15 years. Thereafter, they bought and sold Western art.

 Doris enjoyed spending time on the lake and fishing, especially with her sister. She also loved spending time with her son, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, father and mother; sisters Lavonne Hoenke and Phyllis McClenahan; and great granddaughter Jessica Masa.

Doris is survived by his son Larry Masa and wife Kathy, of Kalispell; grandchildren Melissa Sedivy and husband Mark, of Whitefish, Paul Masa and wife Rubianna, of Columbia Falls, and Andy Masa and wife Jodi, of Kalispell; nine great grandchildren; brothers-in-law Tom and John Masa; and brother David and Bernice Anderson, of Sidney.

Funeral services will be held at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home in Kalispell on Thursday, May 15, at 10 a.m. followed by interment at Glacier Memorial Gardens in Kalispell.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Home Options Hospice.
