Bigfork track read to 'let loose' at district meet

After a solid showing at the Archie Roe track meet in Kalispell last Saturday assistant Bigfork track coach Wayne Loeffler is feeling good about Bigfork’s prospects at districts this weekend.

“We think the kids are about ready to let loose,” he said. “We had a good showing at Archie Roe.”

Bigfork will host Eureka, Troy, Thompson Falls and Plains on Saturday for the district meet.

The top six place winners in each event and top five relay teams will advance to the divisional meet next weekend in Missoula.

Bigfork has seen all of the teams before, and know the competition they face.

“The Plains girls are loaded,” Loeffler said. “The Troy boys are solid and the Thompson Falls boys are always tough because of numbers.”

Overall Loeffler thinks it will be a good meet, with nice weather.

“We’d like to have everybody come out and support the kids,” he said.

Field events will begin at 10 a.m. and running events will start at 11 a.m.
