Unite behind limited federal control
I write this letter realizing that we all have different views and opinions of elected leaders and government. I encourage all residents to make informed decisions in the primary elections on June 3. Take this responsibility seriously and don’t just pull the lever for someone whose name you see on more signs.
Regardless of your views and beliefs, I believe we can all unite on one common principle. The more local control your government has, the more responsive it is to the will of the people. The less the federal government has control of, the better we are as a people.
Our founders envisioned a government from the “bottom up,” not the “top down.” We have flipped our republic on its head over the past 150 years.
I will be voting for candidates who plan to decrease the size and influence of the federal government and return control to the states, counties and municipalities. I do not want a body of “leaders” from all over the country making decisions that impact me, my family, my church and my business.
I want my peers in Montana to make those decisions. I can voice my opinion and rally my community much better to local leaders who live down the street than to federal leaders who are 2,000 miles away and only come to visit occasionally.
I have done my homework and researched voting records. I believe Matt Rosendale for U.S. Congress and Champ Edmunds for U.S. Senate are the candidates we need to limit the scope of the federal government and start to return power and control to the local, county and state governments where it belongs.
Let’s get back to the principles of local control and keep Montana governed by our own neighbors.
