Shirley Ann Stubbs

Shirley Ann Stubbs, 81, died Oct. 28, 2014, while surrounded by her family and friends.

She was born Jan. 13, 1933, in Beverly, Mass., to Harold and Dorothy Moore. She grew up in Boston with her siblings Sonny, Barb and Marilyn.

As a teenager, she moved to Spokane where she completed her education and met her husband of 38 years, Robert Earl Stubbs Sr. They were blessed with three children, Bobby, Sandy and Tammy.

Shirley spent her years volunteering for various groups, teaching CPR and advanced first aid, helping care for others at the original Kalispell Regional Hospital as a surgical tech and floor clerk, and as an active member of Flathead Search and Rescue for 30 years.

Her extended family included Jan Kartheiser, David Mansir, Patrick Turner, Sue Dupont, Dave Pierce, Adam Funk, Alicia Fladager, Dj Jansky, Diane Goldizen, and the entire Aemisegger family, especially Donna. She is also survived by her sisters, daughter and son-in-law Sandy and Gayden Mansir II, and daughter Tammy Hendrickson; grandchildren Laurie Gariner, Amy Mansir, Jenny Reed, Alicia Nieves, Gayle Taves, Gayden Mansir III, David Hendrickson and Robbie Stubbs; 19 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; countless nieces, nephews and friends.

Services will take place at Deer Park Elementary School in Columbia Falls on Sunday, Nov. 2, at 2 p.m. with viewing from 1 to 1:45 p.m. Burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery, with a potluck reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Flathead Search and Rescue or to the children’s special needs cause of choice. The family asks that all attendees forgo traditional memorial attire and instead wear anything that Shirley would have enjoyed.
