Meredith Stolte led the Wildcat speech team at the Bozeman meet Nov. 7-8. She took second in improvisational speaking and fourth in original oratory.

Jerelyn Jones was fourth in humorous oral interpretation, Samantha Gilk was eighth in expository speaking. The meet was a learning event for the team, coach Tara Norick said.

“Our goal this tournament was to learn and improve. We met those goals, but we still have a lot of work to do,” Norick said.

The team took third among Class A schools. Other competitors included:

Cody Phillips, 14th, improvisational speaking, Bailey Duke, 11th, memorized public address, Breanna Friar, 15th, memorized public address, Mile Knutson, 16th, Lincoln-Douglas debate, and Annabel Conger and Colin Norick, 14th, policy debate.

The team will travel to Hamilton for a key match-up this weekend. Hamilton edged the Cats already twice this season and is the team to beat in Class A, as they won the Bozeman meet among A schools.
