Kats beat Corvallis in four, rack up 45 kills

The Columbia Falls volleyball squad racked up an impressive 45 kills against Corvallis as the Wildkats avenged an earlier season loss to the Lady Blue Devils on Oct. 4 in the Bitterroot.

The Kats won in four games, 25-21, 25-12, 16-25 and 25-14. Later the same day, they beat Hamilton in three games, 25-18, 25-17 and 25-22.

Carla Nicosia led the Kats against Corvallis with 16 kills. Ciera Finberg had three blocks and three service aces. Against Hamilton, Finberg had seven kills and Shaylene Fishel had four service aces. Winter Kemppainen had four of the team’s nine blocks.

The Kats continue their long road trip this week as they head to Missoula for a tournament Friday and Saturday.
