Mundel takes third at Cut Bank time trials
Samantha Mundel paced the Columbia Falls girls cross-country team last week, taking third at the Mike Reynolds Time Trials in Cut Bank.
Mundel clocked 19:32 at the Sept. 5 event.
“It was a hot, dry course,” coach Richard Menicke said.
Menicke said he was pleased with the girls team’s overall effort.
“I’m really excited about the girls team,” he said.
Meredith Stolte took 27th at 22:35; Hanna Freeman was 28th at 22:36, Miranda Livingston took 35th at 23.21, Allie Folks was 48th at 23.57, and Haylie Peacock ran a 24.31at 59th to round out the the team’s top five.
Other Wildkat runners included Kendra Cahoon, 61st at 24.43, Sadi Panasuk, 62nd at 24.43, Leanne Marino, 75th at 25.33, Annabel Conger, 94th at 27.19, and McKenna Salminen, 97th at 27.36.
On the boys side, Glenn Morden clocked 19.02, good enough for 37th. Winfield West took 40th at 19.05, Gabe Knudsen took 68th at 20.07, Hunter Peterson was 76th at 20.26, Will Nelson was 85th at 20.53, and Qynn Ingraham was 100th at 21.45.
Logan Morley, of Bigfork, won the boys event at 16.15 and his sister Bryn won the girls event at 17.33.
The team travels to Ronan this Thursday. It’s another hilly course like Cut Bank, which is good, Menicke said. The team needs the hilly courses to get ready for the state meet in Helena, he said.
