Democrat or not?

In the Hungry Horse News in August, Democratic candidate for Flathead County Commissioner Stacey Schnebel said, “I have no use for party politics.”

I find this statement to be confusing. Ms. Schnebel has filed for commissioner with the Democratic Party. Is she not a Democrat? If not, why has she aligned herself with that political party and its ideology?

Is she embarrassed by the philosophy of the Democrats? If she truly has no use for party politics, wouldn’t she have filed as an independent candidate? Everyone has an opinion on the role government should have in our lives.

The voters of Flathead County deserve to know the ideology of candidates before they vote.
