Rising Mountains assisted living celebrates open house
National Assisted Living Week was a time of celebration for Rising Mountains in Bigfork last week.
Donna Shelton, the community liaison for the 30-room facility that opened in February, said the national event had music, food and socializing for the residents.
“We had three different musicians and people had a really good time,” she said.
The facility employs 14 people. Shelton is reaching out to the community to let them know about Rising Mountains.
The building is located north of Bigfork, just off Montana 35 and next to the Pope John Paul II Catholic Parish on Coverdell Road.
Shelton said families are learning about Rising Mountain’s facility and there is plenty of room at Rising Mountains for new residents. “But we aren’t worried. It takes people a while to plan for assisted living,” she said. “They don’t make that decision on a whim.”
Activities for the residents include musical guests, excursions such as a round-Flathead Lake trip, fitness classes and speakers. Food is prepared by the former executive chef of Whitefish Mountain Lodge.
