Supports Perry

| September 30, 2014 7:58 AM

On Nov. 4, I will vote for Zac Perry as my state representative, and I encourage you to do the same. While there are many reasons why I made this choice, I want to share two of them.

Zac has the best interests of his community at the forefront of his campaign. I know this from speaking with Zac and walking with him through my neighborhood and watching him talk with members of our community.

Zac strongly believes that, as our representative, he should listen to what we think and want before making decisions. If you have listened to our current representative, Jerry O’Neil, talk about his motivations for being our representative, you should recognize the differences immediately. Zac does not have a personal agenda and is not trying to revenge any perceived wrongdoings.

And secondly, I am incredibly disappointed in my current representative. O’Neil has not introduced any successful legislation during his terms as my representative, which is actually a relief since I cannot imagine supporting corporal punishment in lieu of prison sentences, for convicted criminals, arresting federal officials who implement the Affordable Care Act, or returning to the gold standard.

I encourage you to look past partisan politics and speak with Zac to find out what he stands for and really examine what Jerry O’Neil supports before marking your ballots. I have full confidence that Zac will listen to his constituents and pursue changes supported by our community and not pursue a personal agenda.
