Chamber meets

The Columbia Falls Area Chamber of Commerce will hold their monthly luncheon at the Teakettle Community Room, 235 Nucleus Avenue, on Tuesday, Feb. 10, from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. Kellie Danielson, president and CEO of Montana West Economic Development, will be the featured speaker. Lunch costs $12.

Chamber news

The Columbia Falls Area Chamber of Commerce is taking applications for a new executive director and for volunteers to sit on the Sports and Education Committee, which organizes the Heritage Days 3-on-3 basketball tournament, and the Holiday Village Committee. Victoria Lee, who took over for Gary Sparr for organizing the Christmas display at Marantette Park, says they need stand-alone lawn ornaments. Teen fundraiser

Operatic vocalist Idara Aguinaga will be among the performers at the “Night For Love” fundraiser for the Sparrows Nest Homeless Teen Shelter on Feb. 13 at Christ Church Episcopal in Kalispell. The fundraiser will feature a dinner, silent auction and live music from Aguinaga, Don Beans, Craig Hodges, members of the Flathead Valley Community College Vocal Jazz Ensemble, and other local musicians. Shrove Tuesday

The  All Saints Episcopal Church, 2048 Conn Road off Highway 40, will hold its annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper in the Parish Hall on Feb. 17 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. with free homemade pancakes, including huckleberry pancakes, and sausage and bacon, including soy sausage. Lighthouse fundraiser

The Lighthouse Christian Home and Services will hold its 10th annual Light Up Your Heart Valentine’s Day swing dance and auction, its main fundraising event, on Saturday, Feb. 14, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $30 each or $200 for a table of eight available by calling 857-3276 or online at www.lighthousechristianhome.org. History talk

The Museum at Central School, 124 Second Avenue East in Kalispell, will present talks on local history and wildlife with the 13th annual John White Lecture Series. Mary Jane Bradbury will present a living history representation of Montana artist Charlie Russell’s wife, Nancy Cooper Russell, on Sunday, Feb. 8, starting at 2:30 p.m. Nancy Russell is credited with helping her husband become the highest paid living artist of his time.
