Columbia Falls volleyball coach Josie Brown has tendered her resignation. Brown led the Wildkats to a 19-3 record last season, their best mark in years as the team took second in the state Class A tournament.

Brown did not return a call seeking comment, but school officials said she was resigning for personal reasons.

Barb Riley made a motion at the School District 6 Board of Trustees meeting Feb. 9 to “begrudgingly” accept Brown’s resignation with regret.

Brown coached the team since 2013. She also coached the squad 10 years ago.

A search is underway for her replacement.
