Patricia Sanderson

Patricia “Patti” Knapton Sanderson, 68, passed away peacefully at Immanuel Lutheran Home on Dec. 27, 2015, with her loving husband Sandy Sanderson by her side.

Patti was born to Marvin and Irene Knapton on March 28, 1946, in Whitefish where her father was a railroad engineer.  

She grew up in Whitefish and attended beauty school and became part-owner of the Hair Hut in Whitefish with Loni Anderson and Shirley Casey.

In 1968, Patti married musician Sandy Sanderson, and they moved into her grandmother’s house in Whitefish. After relocating to Arizona for only one year, they decided to raise their children Karen and Logan in Kalispell. Upon returning, she worked part-time at the Hair Affaire Salon for over 10 years.

She is survived by sisters Jean Sedivy, of Columbia Falls, and Mary Knapton, of Seattle; and brother Bill Knapton, of Florence, Ore.

A memorial service will be held at Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home in Kalispell on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2015, at 1 p.m. followed by a reception at the Split Rock Café, in the KM Building, 30 Second Street East, in Kalispell, from 2:30-4:30 p.m.
