The child pornography case against a 49-year-old Coram man was dismissed by Flathead County Judge Robert Allison on Nov. 10, 2014. Federal charges had been filed against Jon Crandall in U.S. District Court in Missoula in July 2012.

According to court records, the Flathead County Sheriff’s Officer learned about a computer that was sharing files containing child pornography on April 12, 2011. A subpoena served on the Internet provider turned up Crandall’s name and address.

Sheriff’s detectives searched Crandall’s home on Dec. 6, 2011, located Crandall’s laptop computer. An agent from the Intermountain West Regional Computer Forensics Laboratory searched the computer and found 52 images and 10 videos containing child pornography.

Crandall has lived in the community for about 10 years. He lived in Coram with his wife and 12-year-old son and had no prior arrests.
