Speech and drama prep for divisional meet
Bigfork High school Speech, Debate and Drama struggled at their last invitational meet hosted by Loyola at the University of Montana.
Samantha Smit was the only Bigfork speech competitor to make it to finals. She finished sixth in impromptu, and Bigfork came in last for B schools in speech.
The team fared a little better in drama, finished third as a team. While Riley Hoveland, Melody McHaley, Alex Moore and Rosalie Lander all made it to the finals they struggled. Hoveland took eighth and McHaley, Moore and Lander placed seventh.
“While our kids did not fare well, we did get some great experience and will hopefully that that into next week’s divisional tournament,” coach Charlie Appleby said.
The team travels to Shelby on Saturday for divisionals before the state meet in Ennis the following weekend.
