The Glacier Babe Ruth 14U baseball club - the same team that earned a trip to the Babe Ruth World Series last summer as 13-year-olds - is making another deep post-season run.

Glacier (23-3 overall) mowed through the competition at the 14U state tournament in Helena last weekend to punch its ticket to the Pacific Northwest Regional Tournament in Lewiston, Idaho.

Glacier topped Glasgow 20-0 then beat Kalispell 9-2 to reach the championship game.

They knocked off Kalispell 12-2 to take the state title. Tanner Gove, Lee Walburn and Coby Clark-Dickenson combined for the victory on the mound.

"Everybody hit for us," said coach Mike McPhee. "It was an outstanding performance by the whole team. They can all hit for power."

Nine of the 12 players on the team played last year in the World Series in Glen Allen, Va.

"They're hungry to make another run," McPhee said. "It's going to be fun."

Glacier opens pool play at regionals on Saturday against Wyoming.
