Reynolds Creek Fire seeing badly needed rain
The Reynolds Creek Fire was seeing rain today, sometimes heavy at times, said fire information officer Lisa Keibler.
“The weather is really helping us,” she said.
Firefighters were laying hose in lines on the west flank they created yesterday and they were also working on the east flank as well.
The fire is currently mapped at 3,237 acres and is listed as 30 percent contained. Park officials have expressed optimism that they can have access to Logan Pass from the west side by Wednesday.
The St. Mary Visitor Center opened today. There is no access on the Going-to-the-Sun Road currently from Big Bend to St. Mary.
About 650 personnel are on the fire.
