| July 29, 2015 6:27 AM

Columbia Falls motocross racer Brad Bell was headed to the the Rocky Mountain ATV/MC AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship at the Loretta Lynn Ranch in Tennessee this week.

Bell, 44, an accomplished motocross racer, is coming off a broken neck he sustained last year when racing in Hungry Horse.

After rehab and a year of qualifying races, he's hoping to make a comeback. He said the competition will be tough, with more than 50 racers in his class alone.

Bell has been racing since 1985.

Bell is being sponsored by Freedom Bank and Fast Toys. Bell works as a sander operator at Plum Creek. His wife, Kathy is a surgical technician at Kalispell Regional Medical Center and is traveling with him, making sure things go well.

Racing began Tuesday and runs through Saturday. Folks can track race results at: http://mxsports.com/
