Coram man dies in crash

An18-year-old Coram man died in a head-on collision on U.S. 2 north of Evergreen on June 2.

Daniel Trenk was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident north of the Birch Grove intersection.

According to Flathead County Sheriff Chuck Curry, Trenk’s Oldsmobile crossed into the opposite lane and struck a sport utility vehicle, which then crashed into a pickup truck.

A passenger in Trenk’s vehicle was taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center. Curry said the woman has her jaw wired shut at this time.

A mother and her infant in the SUV were hospitalized. Curry said the three injured people are in stable condition.

Witnesses said Trenk’s vehicle veered across all four lanes of traffic prior to the crash. The sheriff’s office is investigating the crash.
