Library thanks

| June 17, 2015 5:34 AM

I want to thank the Imagine If Libraries for the great programs and service at their Columbia Falls branch. We live in West Glacier, but my daughter and I don't mind driving into Columbia Falls for story time each week. Miss Nancy, as the kids call her, has been instrumental in getting my young daughter and all the other kids who attend story time, interested in the library. She reads them fun stories, sings songs in which the kids participate and then at the end takes out a huge box of toys for them to play with. The kids have no idea that they are learning, to them it's just about having fun.

When we went to Europe on vacation, we walked past a library in London and my daughter insisted on going in to read books like she does with Miss Nancy. This demonstrates that at two years old, the Columbia Falls library has already been an important part of her life.

Last Thursday we attended story time again and there was a toy rocket ship that really made an impression on the kids. Miss Nancy saw this as an opportunity to teach them about space and without any prompting from the parents, she proceeded to look up and find all the children's books available on the subject. We checked three of those out for further reading. As a library user I am very grateful for the staff's kindness and guidance they provide to the younger generations. They have made sure that the Columbia Falls library is a forward-thinking, useful and fun institution.
