Wildcats take third at Bitterroot swim meet
The Columbia Falls swim team opened their season last week with a third place showing at the Bitterroot Invitational.
The boys 13-14 age 200 medley won their race with a time of 2 minutes, 35.46 seconds. The girls took second in the same race with a time of 2:54.75.
"It was great first meet of the season," said assistant coach Alon Golan. "We are already seeing so much improvement in less than two weeks of practice. Our older and experienced swimmers not only swam well, but showed leadership by inspiring and supporting our younger and less experienced swimmers. Our newer swimmers showed courage in competing in new events and longer distances."
Several swimmers had second-place finishes. Russell Albin was second in the boys 13-14 100 freestyle, Bryce Dunham in the 9-10 boys 50 and 100 free, Kaylee King in the 9-10 girls 50 free and Kyler King in the boys 11-12 100 free.
