Wreck near Butte injures local couple
A 62-year-old Columbia Falls man, his wife and his two grandsons, ages 14 and 17, were injured in a crash on I-90 about 42 miles east of Butte on March 12.
The man reportedly passed out while driving his 2012 Dodge Ram. The vehicle crossed the median and the westbound lanes and then traveled through the north right-of-way fence.
Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Ken Klapan said the man suffered from a medical condition or had a seizure.
All four people in the pickup were transported by ambulance to St. James Healthcare in Butte. The driver’s lip was cut, and his 62-year-old wife complained of back pain, Klapan said.
