Two close losses at the state Class B basketball tournament wrapped up the season last weekend for the Bigfork High School girls basketball team.

The Valkyries finished the season 18-6.

Colstrip did just enough to slip by Bigfork 55-50 on Thursday evening at Four Seasons Arena in Great Falls, sending the Valkyries to the consolation bracket to face Manhattan.

Manhattan outscored Bigfork 9-5 in overtime to claim the 54-50 loser-out victory on Friday.

Manhattan also outscored Bigfork 16-12 in the fourth quarter to rally and force overtime.

Bigfork was led by Marissa Hiza and Mattison McAnally, who had 13 points each, and Katie Thomas added 10.

Against Colstrip, the game was close the entire way, with Colstrip up 25-20 at the half. Both teams scored 30 points in the second half.

Miranda Campbell scored 16 points to go with 10 rebounds for Bigfork. Both totals were team highs.

Hiza added 12 points for the Valkyries.

Despite a tough state tournament several Valkyries were named All-Conference. McAnally was named first team All-Conference, Campbell and Hiza were named second team and Lana Berg was named All-State and first team All-Conference.
