Former Wildcat runner Derrick Williams burned up the track for the Colorado State University-Pueblo track team at the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships on May 3 in Pueblo.

Williams won his second conference championship of the weekend by posting a time of 3:55.74 in the 1,500 meters. He also won the 3,000-meter steeplechase in the three-day event. He was named the male athlete of the meet.

Williams, a sophomore, holds the CSU-Pueblo school record in the 1,500 meters. He graduated from Columbia Falls in 2012 and spent a year at Carroll College before transferring to CSU-Pueblo.
