Getts wraps up regular season undefeated
Emily Getts will head into the Northwest Class A divisional tournament this week in Libby with an undefeated regular season record in girls tennis.
Getts beat Kaylene Hudson, 6-0, 6-3 of Libby at home May 7 and then dispatched Sarah Trinh of Hamilton 6-0, 6-2 away May 9. The Wildkats walloped Libby 6-1 and Hamilton 7-0 as the team is playing well heading into the postseason.
The Wildcats are having a tougher time of it. They were blanked by Libby, but Gabby DeLorme in No. 2 singles did pick up a win against Hamilton, defeating Spencer Tredik, 6-4, 6-2. It was the only win of the match for Columbia Falls. The Wildcat team this season is fairly young and inexperienced.
The divisional tournament in Libby will start Friday. This will be the last divisional tourney there, as Libby drops to Class B next season. The tourney will determine seeding at the state Class A tournament, which will be held in Missoula this year.
