The air will thunder and the ground will shake Sunday when the annual Rumble in the Bay car and air show comes to Bigfork.

The eighth annual show is Sept. 6 in downtown Bigfork and at Ferndale airport. The downtown show, with over 250 vintage cars and motorcycles, opens at 9 a.m. A free shuttle will run from Ferndale airport to downtown Bigfork, so visitors can view both shows and avoid parking congestion downtown, organizer Carl Easton said. The Rumble in the Bay is Montana’s largest car show Easton said, and each year it attracts thousands of people to the village.

Since downtown is closed to public parking, there is parking at Bigfork High School. There will be an after-Rumble party at the Tall Pine Lounge in Bigfork, with many of the cars being displayed there also. Electric Avenue in Bigfork will be closed at 5 a.m. Sunday, and any automobiles on the street will be towed to make room for the car show, Easton said.
