Samantha Varner named student of the month

Bigfork High School has selected Samantha Varner as their Student of the Month for February. 

Varner is a senior at BHS. She was nominated for the honor by Mrs. Taylor, who teaches the senior government and economics classes.  Mrs. Taylor felt Varner “deserves to be recognized for her hard work ethic and for her positive attitude”.

 During her four years at Bigfork, Varnerhas participated in many activities, including band, volleyball, basketball and National Honor Society. She especially enjoys studying math, “because it comes so easy to me.” She also has enjoyed being in band, where she plays the flute.

 Over the past few years, Varner has started sharing her knowledge by coaching younger kids in basketball and baseball.  “I am constantly working with little kids.”  She plans to attend FVCC after graduation to earn a degree in elementary education and early childhood education.
