Columbia Falls swimming: Nelson sets new school mark

Karyssa Nelson set a new school record in the 50 freestyle at the Missoula Invitational swim meet Saturday. Nelson swam the race 26.07, besting her previous mark by a second. Nelson also set a new record in the 500 free with a time of 6:03.92, besting a previous school record of 6:50.14 set by Hayden Pierce.

Nelson took third overall in the 50 and fifth in the 500.

As a team, the boys and girls both took seventh. The team has a home meet at the Wave in Whitefish on Saturday. Races start at noon.
