LETTER: About that anger, just who do you think is to blame?
Everywhere I turn these days, I am told how angry Americans are. Well, let us ask a few questions in trying to find wherein lies the blame for all of this hostility.
—Who was it that met at the same time as President Obama was being inaugurated, vowing they would do everything possible to assure his failure as president?
—Who filibustered every proposal meant to lift America out of the Great Recession and improve the economy?
—Who moved more than 50,000 factories to China, India, Mexico, Honduras, etc., canceling millions of American jobs?
—Who opposes unions and champions the right to work cheaply?
—Who is opposed to affordable health care for all Americans?
—Who is it that blocks badly needed infrastructure projects?
—Who opposes an increase in the minimum wage?
—Who opposes food stamps for the poor?
—Who opposes programs to benefit Vets?
—Who opposes the expansion of Medicaid?
—Who spews disrespect for our president and the office he holds?
—Who lied us into a war that has messed up the entire world?
—Who wants to cut health insurance for children?
There are many more questions one can ask, with the same answer. I will tell you fellow citizens: It ain’t the Democrats.
The election is coming up very soon and all of you angry people need to refocus. Get out of your foxhole and see who has been blocking every effort to improve the lives of all Americans. If you open your eyes, you will see who bears the blame for your anger.
