Bigfork High School varsity cheerleader Kaitlyn Flink, 16, was found dead in her home on Wednesday.

According to Flathead County Undersheriff Dave Leib, a coroner was called and an autopsy was ordered. The death has not been ruled suspicious, according to Leib. He said he could not comment further on the circumstances of Flink’s death until autopsy results were received.

Bigfork Schools Superintendent Matthew Jensen sent out a notice to families about the death on Wednesday.

Flink was a junior at Bigfork High.

“Those that knew her best describe her as a quiet and very well-liked student with a playful sense of humor,” Jensen wrote in the newsletter. “She was a humble and high-achieving person willing to do whatever was asked of her, always going beyond expectations. As a varsity cheerleader, she was respected for her work ethic and welcoming disposition. She will be missed by many.”

Grief resources were made available to students, Jensen wrote.

“Please feel free to contact me, Alan Robbins — our high school principal — or our high school counselor, Tyson Roe, if you feel the need,” Jensen wrote. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the Flink family as they mourn the loss of their beautiful daughter.”
