Naedene Belle Seymour, 90

Naedene Belle Seymour was born in a birthing home on May 29, 1926, in Montesano, Washington, to loving parents, Arthur and Belle Foss. Naedene grew up as an only child in Portland where her dad was a superintendent of a plywood plant and her mom was a homemaker.

Naedene attended the University of Oregon and was always proud of belonging to Alpha Chi Omega there on campus.

She had a fairy tale story about how she met her husband Jack Seymour. A blind date was set up by family members on both sides and would not take no for an answer. Jack and Naedene very reluctantly went along with it. As this love story shows, it ended up being perhaps the best blind date ever. It was love at first sight and by the end of the evening Jack had proposed to her. She told him if he felt the same way in the morning she would give him her answer. He called, very nervous, and his question was answered “Yes.” The rest is a happy history together that lasted 47 years until Jack’s passing in 1996.

Naedene and Jack had three much loved children, Phil, Shelley and David. She was so proud of the fact that she had six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She lived her life with grace, exuberance and a genuine interest and caring in all that she did. She loved people and they in turn couldn’t help but love her too. She always had a love of fashion and could find a bargain where no one else could. She fought breast cancer and won, but Parkinson’s finally had the last say. Through it all she never lost her spirit and spark inside.

Naedene passed on the same day that would have been Jack and Naedene’s 68th wedding anniversary, March 20, 2017.

She is survived and greatly missed by her children Phil Seymour and his wife Linda, Shelley Brazil and her husband Clancy, David Seymour and his wife Marcey; grandchildren Forest and his wife Michelle, Holly and her husband Jose, Trand, Chance, Hannah, Jack and Sara; and her great-grandchildren, Thaeden, Teagan, Savannah and Emmett.
