Poet publishing book on '100 Days of Solitude'

| April 6, 2017 2:00 AM

Kalispell poet Amy Pearson, who spent more than three months at a remote fire lookout in the Bob Marshall Wilderness last summer, has created a Kickstarter to publish a book of poetry she wrote during her time there.

Pearson is a published poet and an adjunct professor at Flathead Valley Community College, and she gave a presentation in February at FVCC as part of the Bob Marshall Wilderness Foundation’s “Wilderness Speaker Series.” She called her presentation “100 Days of Solitude,” which will also be the book’s title.

Donors to Pearson’s Kickstarter will receive a copy of the printed book if they donate at least $16. As of Tuesday, the campaign had raised $743, exceeding the $500 goal. The book will be printed by Many Voices Press, a nonprofit based out of FVCC.

To find Pearson’s campaign, go to www.kickstarter.com and search “100 Days of Solitude.”
