Flathead student brings home silver
Flathead High School student Soren Haagerup brought home a second-place award from the SkillsUSA state competition and leadership conference.
Haagerup won the silver medal in the Automotive Service Technology competition.
He was among 325 students from 35 Montana high schools competing in a variety of industry areas such as architecture, carpentry, welding and in leadership skills like job interviews and extemporaneous speaking.
The SkillsUSA Montana State Leadership and Skills Conference was held April 3-5 at Montana State University-Northern.
SkillsUSA is a nonprofit whose aim is to improve the quality of America’s skilled workforce, particularly in the trades, through classroom training and state and national competitions, according to www.skillsusa.org.
